Marathon Results

Run Rudy, Run!
As you all know, I signed up for the Freescale Marathon a while back. I've been training several times a week for this event. Well, my results are in and I'm happy with the results:

The day started out super cold, but as the race went on, I think it actually helped us runners out. Looking back, I don't know how I did it: I just kept running and running. I'm actually a bit amazed when I see the map. Two things to fix for next year, or the next race:
1: Start the race near the 4:45 group. Because of a few delays in getting to the starting line, I was stuck behind all the walkers.
I was near the back of the pack for most of the first 4 miles. It took me some work, but I finally caught up with the 5:00 hour people around mile 5 and the 4:45 people around mile 9. From the 9 mile mark until the end of the race, I stuck with the 4:45 pack.
2: Take some potassium. I was ready to kick butt on Mile 12 to the end, but I cramped up around the 12.25 mile mark. I had to stop, stretch out and make sure everything was ok. That stop added about 2 minutes to my race time. And, as I was crossing the finish line, I cramped up again. I didn't want to ruin the pictures, so
I just ran through the cramp. I stretched out after the photographers took pics of me crossing the line.
It was great having Priscilla, my folks and my sister there, at the finish line. Maybe next year, some of them will join me. (Hint Hint)
The pictures are not up yet, but when they are posted, I'll put them up here and on my Flickr page.
